Negotiations on Ukrainian Association Agreement to be Resumed
EU and Russia has come to an agreement to re-launch the negotiations with the EU on Ukrainian Association Agreement. "We will agree upon time and venue of the next trilateral ministerial meeting in the nearest future," – announced Russian Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukayev after the meeting with EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom and Neighborhood Policy Commissioner Johannes, Tass reports. Ulyukayev mentioned that the content of the Association Agreement is "the matter of Ukraine and the EU."
The political part of the Association agreement between Ukraine and the EU was signed on March 21, 2014. The agreement entered into force partially, but the process of its ratification by EU member countries continues. The President of Ukraine has expressed a hope that this process will be finished in 2015 and the agreement will fully enter into force. The economic part of the agreement is an exception. It was signed on June 27, 2014 and taking into consideration the complaints by the Russian side will enter into force in 2016.
